ANTI-RAGGING


  • Any conduct by a student or students, whether through spoken or written words, or by actions, which entails teasing, treating, or handling a fresher or any other student rudely.
  • Engaging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students that may cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm, or raise fear or apprehension in any other student.
  • Asking any student to perform an act that they would not typically do, resulting in feelings of shame, torment, or embarrassment that adversely affect the physical or psychological well-being of the student.
  • Any action by a senior student that obstructs, disrupts, or disturbs the regular academic activities of any other student.
  • Exploiting the services of any student to complete academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students.
  • Any act of financial extortion or imposition of forceful financial burdens on any student.
  • Any act of physical abuse, encompassing all its variants, such as sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, coercion into obscene and lewd acts or gestures, inflicting bodily harm, or posing any other danger to an individual's health or well-being.
  • Any act of verbal abuse through spoken words, emails, posts, or public insults, which may include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfort of any student.
  • Any act that adversely impacts the mental health and self-confidence of any student, whether or not there is an intent to derive sadistic pleasure or demonstrate power, authority, or superiority by one student over another.


PENALTY FOR INDULGING AND ABETTING RAGGING


  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Suspension from attending classes.
  • Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits
  • Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process
  • Withholding results.
  • Debarring from representing the Institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
  • Rustication from the Institution.
  • Expulsion from the Institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other Institution
  • Collective punishment: when the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the Institution shall resort to collective punishment as a deterrent to ensure community pressure on the potential raggers.
